Which is better for an outdoor movie night, an LED screen or a projector?
Dallas sunset times by month, and when a projector is enough or LED is worth the cost.
LED screens are bright enough to start an HOA, school, church, or city movie night before sunset. If your movie starts after dark and budget is tight, we also rent an inflatable movie screen.
The 16′ × 9′ Main Event screen is $3,750 for four hours of show time, delivered, set up, and run by our technician. See all prices
Local businesses can sponsor part or all of the screen. How to find sponsors

In June and July the Dallas sun sets around 8:37 PM, and a projected picture doesn’t look right until the sky is fully dark, usually after 9:15. Families with young kids often leave before the movie ends.
An LED screen is bright enough for direct sun, so the movie can start at 7:30. It also holds up under parking lot lights, pool lights, and streetlights. Month-by-month comparison.
Showing a movie to the public, even for free, takes a public performance license from the studio’s licensing agent, issued in the host’s name. The movie night kit ($195) covers coordinating it. The license fee is billed at cost and is usually a few hundred dollars per title, depending on the movie and the audience. How movie licensing works.
For about 250 residents on blankets: the Block Party screen ($2,750), pro sound ($395), and the movie night kit ($195) come to $3,340, or $3,006 at the 2027 early-booking rate for dates booked by January 31. Add Texas sales tax and the movie license fee. Delivery is included within 30 miles of downtown Dallas.
The 16′ × 9′ Main Event fits most HOA and community movie nights. For a backyard or a small courtyard, the 12′ × 7′ Block Party is enough. If the movie starts after dark and budget matters most, the inflatable screen is $895. For a birthday or a backyard party, see private party rentals.
