Outdoor Events in Dallas

Klyde Warren Park’s Fourth of July celebration and holiday tree lighting draw crowds every year. Fair Park, home of the Cotton Bowl Stadium, fills up on fall weekends, and so do the trails and lawns around White Rock Lake.

A private event puts the screen where its own people already gather. In Oak Cliff that might be a church parking lot. In Uptown it’s an apartment pool deck, downtown a company courtyard at lunch, and near Lakewood a neighborhood block party.

Popular Event Ideas

  • Sunday services in an Oak Cliff church lot
  • Pool-deck watch parties in Uptown

Planning an Outdoor Event in Dallas

Large public gatherings in Dallas happen at Klyde Warren Park, Fair Park, and the parks around White Rock Lake.

A public park or street usually needs a special event permit from the City of Dallas, often 30 to 90 days ahead. Private property, such as a church lot or an HOA amenity center, usually doesn’t. More in the permit guide.
